POCKET BOOK /// IS READY
POCKET BOOK Vol. 1 is an inventory of the contents of pockets. This sample was taken from 4-10 pm on Saturday, October 13th 2012 by asking the general public to empty their pockets on to a Xerox machine. No additional editing was done.
This publication was produced with the generous support of Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. We would also like to acknowledge the participants in this live book event. We have done our best to conceal your identity.

SOMEWHERE IN THE FOLD
November 29th - December 29th, 2012
Performance by F.F.J.R. from Marfa,TX, 9-10pmThere is a broad dialogue between publication and art object, far more complex than the straightforward union of the two into the ‘art book.’ Somewhere in the Fold is a survey of the relationship between the current state of publishing and the art practices of contemporary artists. These disciplines have converged into processes of editing and editioning, making once disparate fields singular.
The participating artists and publishers of Somewhere in the Fold approach this conversation by showing work that deliberately confuses the terms ‘publication’ and ‘art object’, while attempting to discover a place where they can exist together both in form and concept.
